HO HO HO

The Holidays will soon be upon us, and trouble’s afoot. First Santa fell off a chimney and suffered some temporary brain damage. Do you have the chops to buy your gifts  and re-train Santa how to deliver his in SINTERKLASS? Next we have Lola, the last hooker on Earth, looking for help to spread a little Christmas cheer amidst a flurry of snow and walking dead. Guide her through 12 nights of unrelenting holiday horror, fending off zombie attackers that want to eat her brains and searching for Elves (and Santa himself!) to bring back to her trailer in ZOMBIE HOOKER XXXMAS. Lastly you’ve been charged to destroy your enemies, save your friends, and be the hero in this epic snowball showdown in SNOWCRAFT. Happy Holidays.

You Don’t Know Beans ??

This month we help our readers get reacquainted with Beans (of Anti-Pop Consortium fame.)  Meeting at a poetry slam night, Beans, High Priest, M. Sayyid and Earl Blaize started working together, releasing singles and mixtapes on Anti-Pop Records. They finally formed as Anti-Pop Consortium in 1997, with the mission statement to create forward-thinking hip hop. There was much rejoicing when they reformed in 2007. As one of the most exciting, creative forces in hip hop, hopefully this reconvening of the collective continues…

Go ahead, drink the Kool-Aid!

You know where you are? You’re in the jungle, baby.

D-Sisive returns with his newest creation, Jonestown. The free album is the follow up to his Polaris Long-Listed album ‘Let The Children Die’, which featured the SOCAN/Echo award winning song ‘Nobody With A Notepad’.

“It’s the Kool Aid,” describes D-Sisive of his newest LP. The Juno nominated artist decided to take a break from his dark/depressing content to focus on the “punchline/battle-rap” style he became known for in the late nineties. The album boasts production from heavyweights Muneshine (Sean Price), Moss (Ghostface, Obie Trice), Anonymous Twist (Planet Asia), Murr (LAL, formerly of The Grassroots), Toronto-born/NY-based Marco Polo (Heltah Skeltah, Masta Ace), 9th Uno and Shinogo. Toronto artist Slim Twig (paper bag records) also makes an appearance on the Shinogo produced ‘Around The World’. The Muneshine produced single ‘West Coast’ is already charting across the country.

“It’s a secret,” laughs D-Sisive after asked to explain the connection between the album’s content and it’s title. Jonestown will be released Wednesday, November 18, 2009, also marking the 31st anniversary of the Jonestown Massacre.

Welcome to Jonestown.

Apocalyptic Priorities 101

blog-nov2009-movies3

If this week’s boxoffice winner hints anyway of reality than that means apocalypse is nearly upon us. Stop shopping for holiday presents, upgrading to the latest iphone, getting your rug shampooed or paying for rent for that matter. Go out there to chop down some trees for the neighborhood Ark, and stock up on some clean underpants. You’ll thank us come 2012
